I have visited Sardis Pond on many occasions since moving to the Fraser Valley 21 years ago. Never before tonight have I noticed how beautiful and peaceful this park is. It is located in the middle of Sardis surrounded by a residential area. It has quite a variety of waterfowl and various birds. There is a short walking trail surrounding the pond with various views of the pond at every turn.
Mallards and Canada Goose are prevalent at this time of year. They nest and rest in all parts of the pond. I am told that the fall brings a whole new variety of birds including the Canada Geese. The pond is stocked by the local trout hatchery and is open to children and seniors only. I am looking forward to come and photograph this pond at various times of the year, especially this fall when the colors of the trees should be spectacular. I will also photograph this location with black and white film to see the effects black and white pictures produce.
